The Challenge

What they were facing

SolarChief had built something genuinely impressive: over 22,000 solar panels installed across NSW, 450 MW of clean energy capacity, and 150 five-star reviews from real customers. They had the experience, the team, the track record, and the credentials. What they didn't have was visibility on Google.

When homeowners in Western Sydney searched “solar installer Blacktown” or “solar panels Minchinbury”, SolarChief wasn't appearing. Their competitors — including national platforms like SolarQuotes and SolarChoice that aggregate installer leads — were capturing the top positions, feeding those leads to other installers. SolarChief was paying to compete in a market they should have owned organically.

The website was built on a purchased theme from Themeforest — and had never been properly configured. Placeholder brand logos had never been replaced. There was no blog content, no suburb-specific landing pages, and no Google Business Profile that had been actively maintained. Their organic search position for most of their target keywords sat beyond position 50 — effectively invisible.

Technical SEO Audit and Site Cleanup

Before any content or link building work could be effective, we needed a solid technical foundation. We conducted a full technical audit, removing placeholder elements and unconfigured template artefacts, fixing crawlability issues, implementing proper canonical tags, improving page speed and mobile performance, and configuring structured data markup including LocalBusiness and Service schema. This gave Google a clean, well-signalled site to evaluate.

Google Business Profile Optimisation

A well-maintained Google Business Profile is often the fastest path to local visibility for service businesses. We completed and optimised SolarChief's GBP with comprehensive service descriptions, updated service area mapping for Western Sydney and greater NSW, regular posts, Q&A entries, and a systematic approach to requesting reviews from satisfied customers — building on the strong reputation SolarChief had already earned on third-party platforms.

Local Landing Pages

We built a series of suburb-specific landing pages targeting the areas SolarChief actively serves across NSW — Western Sydney suburbs (Blacktown, Penrith, Parramatta, Rouse Hill, Schofields, Minchinbury), greater regional NSW, and key metro fringe growth corridors. Each page was uniquely written, locally contextualised, and optimised for the specific search intent of homeowners in that area researching solar installation.

Content Strategy and Link Building

We developed a targeted content strategy aimed at the questions NSW homeowners ask before deciding on solar: battery storage ROI, how to compare installer quotes, feed-in tariff changes, solar system sizing for different household sizes. This content built topical authority for SolarChief's domain. We also secured high-quality inbound links from Australian renewable energy publications, local business directories, and relevant trade associations.
